Through recordings and documentary-style video productions' our mission is to capture each authentic experience. We cater recording and production packages to fit any individual situations or needs.
JASON WICKENS // Owner, Producer, Audio Engineer
Jason is a fourth generation Montana native who grew up on his family ranch near Winifred, Montana. Jason graduated from The Conservatory Of Recording Arts & Sciences in 2005. After spending time out of state Jason pursued his dream of opening a production facility with his wife Jackie Wickens in Bozeman, MT. Blue Roan Media was then created to encompass a shared dream of individuals in the film and music industries.
JUSTIN LUBKE // Director, Editor, Cinematographer
Justin grew up in the small Montana town of Ennis, Montana. After leaving home, he worked with the poor in Brazil and indigenous tribes in India. Eventually Justin returned and graduated from Montana State University with an honors degree in documentary filmmaking. For 10 years, Justin has worked in non-fiction film. He has directed, shot, and edited a variety of programs with topics ranging from grizzly bears to indigenous tribes to basketball. His work has appeared on networks such as PBS, National Geographic, Animal Planet, and CBS. Recently Justin directed, shot, and edited the feature length documentary Class C, a film that has won multiple film festival awards and two Emmys.
MATT ARKINS // Director, Director of Photography, Cinematographer
Matt is an honors graduate from Montana State University with a BA in Media, Theatre Arts. He is an award winning photographer, director, and cinematographer with an extensive 17-year background in commercial production, feature films, music videos, and documentaries. His work has appeared for The Department of Defense, CBS, Animal Planet, The Discovery Channel, and National Geographic among others. Matt’s work has taken him all over the world, including the Amazon, the arctic, the Galapagos Archipelago Islands, Southeast Asia, and Haiti.
DOC WILEY // Audio Engineer, Producer
Doc is a Grammy award winning audio engineer, studio designer, and studio manager. He has worked with such artists as Howard Shore, "Lord Of The Rings, Twin Towers" New Line Cinema, Miami Ink, "Discovery Channel" and nominated for a Latin Grammy as mix engineer "Willie Chirino" PBS Special. Wiley has also worked with artist U2, Prince, Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston, and countless others. Doc has enjoyed a long successful career in music as a producer and recording engineer and was one of the first studio owners in the world to use Pro Tools to track major label releases.
